Daler Mehndi, King of pop and The Metaverse Man of India, has been awarded the Bharat Samman Award. The award, which is given by Dr Thomas Prade President Ecole Superieure Robert de Sorborn France and Dr Vivek Choudhary D.Litt (IIPPT) to recognize outstanding contributions to the Indian Music Industry and contribution to making the planet greener, was presented to Mehndi at a ceremony in New Delhi.
Mehndi is known for his unique blend of Punjabi folk and Western pop music. He has released over 20 albums and has sold over 100 million records worldwide. His songs, such as “Tunak Tunak Tun” and “Bolo Tara ra ra,” have become global hits.
In a statement, Mehndi said that he was “humbled and honored” to receive the Bharat Samman Award. He said that the award would “inspire me to continue working hard and creating music that will entertain and uplift people.
